What helps me answer
Ages. Almost every question about a house with kids in it turns on how old they are and how far apart, because a system that holds for a six year old collapses under a two year old and gets ignored by an eleven year old. If you can add the shape of the problem, what you already tried and how long it lasted before it fell apart, that settles more than a photograph does.
What I cannot do
I do not give medical, developmental, behavioural or educational advice, and I will not tell you whether something your child is doing is normal, because I cannot see your child and I am not qualified to say. Those questions belong with your paediatrician, your health visitor, or your school. I do not take paid consultations. If a question turns out to be one a lot of people are asking, it may become an article, and I will tell you before that happens rather than after.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, say so. A method that fails in a house with a different layout, or an age I got wrong, is worth more to me than a compliment. The fix goes on the page along with a note about what changed.
